§01What silently leaks
Nothing throws an exception — the invoice just comes out quietly low. MeterGuard re-rates your usage against your own Stripe prices (per-unit, graduated, and volume tiers) and flags every gap with evidence.
“Detected leakage”= usage Stripe recorded that wasn't fully invoiced, plus unpaid failed-invoice amounts and dead-meter losses — each backed by the exact Stripe IDs. It's identified, recoverable opportunity, not guaranteed recovered cash; you apply the fix.

I'm Steve. I build and run MeterGuard alone — tech/IT background, one inbox, no support queue, no sales team. The tool is read-only on purpose: you shouldn't have to hand write-access to your billing to a stranger just to find out you're leaking money.
Your Stripe key is validated with a single read call, stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM, used only against the GET endpoints documented at /connect, and revocable from your Stripe dashboard the moment you change your mind. I'll never email your customers and I'll never move money.

Only read it. You give us a restricted key with Read access — it can't move money, change billing, or message anyone. Revoke it anytime in Stripe.
Never. You create a restricted key in your own Stripe dashboard and paste it in — we never see your login, password, or secret key, and you can revoke the restricted key in one click without contacting us.
A restricted key is the most tightly-scoped access Stripe offers: you pick the permissions (Read), Stripe enforces them, and you revoke it yourself. An OAuth “Connect with Stripe” flow is on the roadmap — until then the key keeps access fully in your hands.
No — we find them and hand you the exact Stripe IDs as proof. You (or your dev) apply the fix. We're the smoke detector, not the plumber. The report is yours either way; if you want it re-checked weekly, that's what the $99/mo monitor does.
